Letter of Introduction

Who We Are >>  Letter of Introduction

After completing a Development course in UK, I decided to embark on an experience that became a turning point in my life: a solo travel across Asia. In India I was very emotionally touched. Watching so many children stripped of a childhood and condemned to contribute to their family income with no future hope other than a hand-to-mouth existence, I felt the urge to act.

A few months later I founded in Spain Seed for Change with the aim of giving these children a better future. We opt for a quality education as the means to break the cycle of poverty and to achieve their full potential. As Kennedy used to say, children are the resource and the hope for the future. If we help them become self-sufficient, we are making them look at the future with confidence.

In Varanasi, the opening project of Seed for Change gradually was shaped: on the first academic year, eighteen children were provided schooling under a comprehensive educational program that promotes social inclusion and prepares them for the challenges of the job market.

Since that humble beginning, more and more supporters are becoming sensitized and committed to our project. Prospects are encouraging: soon we will be in a position to widen the scope of our coverage to the areas of nutrition and healthcare, as well as to increase the number of beneficiaries, providing many more children with options for a better future.

Thank you for showing an interest in our work, which would not be possible without the solidarity and support of all those who, alike you, believe in sowing hope and change. It is in your hands to join in our cause and together, transform day after day the lives of poor children in Varanasi.
