Our program in Varanasi is addressed to children from families who lack the means to educate them.

Participants are selected after taking part in a rigorous screening process. In order to assess the family’s socioeconomic situation and their motivation, their homes are visited and a second meeting is arranged with qualified personnel from the school.

In order to ensure the continuity of the beneficiaries on the program, parents are involved in the education and progress of their children through regular follow-up meetings with the school.

In 2009, the year when Seed for Change was founded, our work started with a limited number of beneficiaries: eighteen children sent to school and five working children in literacy courses.

During 2010, thanks to the growing publicity of our program and the wide reception among various supporters, we hope to be able to significantly increase the number of beneficiaries and to cover the marginal district of Bazaar Biha, in Varanasi. For more information, click here.
